Eidolon World (not so) Frequent Questions

What Is It?

The Eidolon World is my website.

What Does It Mean?

According to Wikipedia, eidolon means "ideal" or "ghost." Webster defines it as "an image without real existence; phantom; apparition." I vaguely remember an old dictionary defining it as a hallucination or waking dream. Here, Eidolon World is a ghost world that exists only in our imaginations. I first used it years ago on a website featuring my computer generated graphics. I first encountered the word in a Commodore 64 video game titled The Eidolon.

What Will I Find Here?

Not much right now. Eventually this site will be my creative outlet for poetry, stories, photographs, and, perhaps, computer graphics.

How Do I Contact You?

See the contact page.

I've Been There Already, How Do I Contact You?

The simplest way is to type the email address found in the last method on the contact page into your email client. The most complicated way involves duct tape, a bottle, and liquid hydrogen.

What The Heck Is EBCDIC Anyway?

An old mainframe alternative to ASCII. As for ASCII, it all starts with the electron... (long winded computer science lecture removed) ...and that's how computers use ASCII.

Are These Really Frequently Asked Questions?

No. The writer in me just likes the dialog format.

Why Isn't There Anything Here Except For This Silly FAQ?

Because the site is new and is still being created.

Why No "Under Construction" Sign?

Web sites are like the roads, they're all under construction all the time. It's a given, so no sign is necessary.
